Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) is a type of behaviour disorder found in children. Children with Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) are generally stubborn, rebellious, and aggressive toward demanding people, parents, teachers, and other people who are authority figures. They are more upsetting to others than they are to themselves.
Causes
Causes of Oppositional defiant disorder is still unknown to medical fraternity but generally there are two theories prevalent.
First Theory – As per this theory, the problem starts when children are toddlers. It’s been evidently been seen that children and teens having ODD may have had trouble in becoming independent from parents.
Second Theory – According to this theory the negative enforcement method used by parents or teachers. The child mirrors the behaviour of the stern parents thus becoming adamant, stubborn and attention seeker.
